Studio Duva is the husband and wife photography team of Justin and Tricia Duva. Lifelong photographers, we’ve been full-time professionals for six years and parents for four.

We’ve learned that there are good photographers and there are “good with people” people. Rarely do those two skills come together, but they do with us, if we do say so. With years of experience photographing weddings, corporate events, family sessions, preschool children, and yes, even Santa Claus, we’ve learned that photographing people is our passion, and nothing feels better than capturing the twinkle in that child’s eye for mom and dad to enjoy forever.

As parents, we understand kids like to participate in the decision process, that’s why we schedule plenty of time for each session (5-7 minutes), bring a box of props from which they can select their favorite, and get down on their level to introduce ourselves and explain what we are doing. As photographers, we know everyone needs direction to look their best in an image, which is why we provide gentle guidance for posing.

Our relaxed approach usually brings out the smiles, but if they don’t appear, Justin’s tried and true “monkey” impression gets them smiling every time. There’s something about a grown man acting like a goofball that just makes everyone laugh.
